Measurements Guide

PLEASE REVIEW THIS GUIDE WHEN TAKING YOUR MEASUREMENTS!

For the most accurate measurements:

  • Use a flexible measuring tape.
  • Wear fitted undergarments. 
  • Stand naturally. 
  • Have someone help you measure if possible.

  • Bust
    • Measure around the fullest part of your bust/chest while wearing a bra or undergarments similar to what you plan to wear with the finished garment. Keep the tape measure level all the way around your body.
  • High bust
    • Measure around your chest directly under your armpits and above the fullest part of your bust. Keep the tape measure level across your back.
  • Under bust 
    • Measure around your rib cage directly underneath your bust where a bra band would sit.
  • Natural waist
    • Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually located a few inches above your belly button. stand naturally and comfortably, don’t suck in your stomach.
  • High hip
    • Measure around your body approximately 3-4 inches below your waist, around the upper hip bones.
  • Full hip
    • Measure around the fullest part of your hips and butt, keep the tape measure parallel to the floor
  • Shoulder width
    • Measure from the outer edge of one shoulder to the outer edge of the other shoulder across your upper back. Start at the point where a shoulder seam would normally sit on a fitted shirt. Keep the tape measure straight across the back and do not curve it around the shoulders. 
  • Neck circumference 
    • Measure around the base of your neck where a collar would naturally sit. The tape should be snug but not tight 
  • Armhole circumference
    • Wrap the tape measure around your shoulder and under your armpit, creating a complete circle where a sleeveless armhole would be. Make sure the tape isn’t digging into your skin.
  • Bicep circumference 
    • Measure around the fullest part of your upper arm while relaxed at your side.
  • Upper thigh circumference 
    • Measure around the fullest part of your upper thigh, just below the crotch area. 
  • Shoulder to waist (front)
    • Measure from the top of your shoulder, over your bust, down to your natural waist
  • Shoulder to waist (back)
    • Measure from the back of the neck down the center back to the natural waist
  • Waist to crotch (front)
    • Measure from your natural waist down to the crotch seam area
  • Waist to crotch (back)
    • Measure from your natural waist, over your butt, down to your crotch seam area
  • Full torso length
    • Starting at the top of one shoulder, run the tape measure down through the bust, between the legs, and back up to the same shoulder point on your back
  • Inseam
    • Measure from the crotch seam area down to your desired pants or short length
  • Outseam
    • Measure from your natural waist down to your desired pants or shorts length 
  • Crotch width
    • Stand naturally with your feet about shoulder width apart. Measure straight across the body from where one leg meets the crotch to where the other leg meets the crotch. This is the width of the body at the crotch, not measured underneath.
